OUR STòrí
The way we tell stories shapes history and this is ours—of òrí (Shea Butter) and Africa. It’s one of healing and nourishment for every body, written through quality and history.
It’s a story of self-care and its place and importance in everyday life. We foster moments of quiet nourishment and luxury that celebrate, preserve and share the heritage of holistic, African self care traditions.
It’s a proud song of the beautiful African continent and her incredible, vibrant, natural riches we are blessed with and want the world to know.

CONTINUING OUR LEGACY
Formerly known as Just Shea, our journey began with a simple need: to find a natural solution for our founder’s nephew’s eczema. Countless products fell short, but the answer lay in the family’s traditions—shea butter, a time-honored ingredient cherished for its healing and nourishing properties. What started as a remedy became a mission to share the beauty and wisdom of African skincare rituals with the world.
Today, as Stòrí of Africa, we continue this legacy, blending our roots in African heritage with innovative formulations to nourish every body. Our name reflects our expanded vision: to tell the story of òrí (shea butter) and Africa through products that honor the land, its people, and the self-care rituals that inspire connection, confidence, and joy.
We tell our story with taama, karité, sì and shea.
We tell it with òrí of Africa.

Adama, the heart behind Stori of Africa, comes from a lineage of healers, educators, and entrepreneurs who nurtured and uplifted those around them. Her family’s journey took them from Sierra Leone to regional New South Wales, seeking education, safety, and freedom during a time when returning home was no longer possible.

Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Butter)
Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Butter)
Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii) Shea butter is at the heart of every Stòrí of Africa product—a powerhouse ingredient cherished for its deeply nourishing and protective properties. Sourced from the shea tree, native to West Africa, this natural wonder provides intense moisture, soothes irritation, and helps shield the skin from harsh environmental conditions. Ideal for all skin types, it’s especially beneficial for dry skin, scars, stretch marks, and uneven tone.
Rich in vitamins A and E, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids like oleic and stearic acids, shea butter delivers lasting hydration while softening and strengthening the skin’s natural barrier. Its emollient qualities help smooth the skin’s texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines, making it a true skincare essential.
Beyond its skincare benefits, shea butter holds deep social and economic significance for women in rural sub-Saharan Africa. The traditional process of harvesting and producing shea butter has been passed down through generations, providing a vital source of income that empowers women and supports their families.
As a female-founded brand, Stòrí of Africa is committed to uplifting and supporting women entrepreneurs and producers. Women are the backbone of their communities, and economic independence plays a crucial role in their well-being and that of their families. By honoring this time-honored craft, we celebrate not only the power of shea butter but also the resilience, skill, and strength of the women who bring it to life.
