Unrefined shea butter retains its natural colour, earthy aroma, and full concentration of beneficial compounds — including the anti-inflammatory cinnamic acid that makes it so effective for dry, eczema-prone, and sensitive skin. Refined shea butter is is a neutral white colour with no scent, making it ideal for cosmetic formulations as the core moisturising properties are retained. At Stòrí of Africa, we use both — deliberately — because different skin needs different things.
